arduino-mk software package provides Program your Arduino from the command line, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install arduino-mk
arduino-mk is installed in your system.
Make ensure the arduino-mk package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep arduino-mk *
You will get with arduino-mk package name, version, architecture and description in a table
